The Bear Bryant Stamp

The U.S. Postal Service commissioned Daniel A. Moore to create artwork for its Legendary Football Coaches Commemorative postage stamp series released in 1997. Two versions of the stamp were introduced...one at the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, and one in the state of Alabama. The only difference was that the Alabama issue had a red (crimson?) stripe under the words, "Bear Bryant."

Old Alabama Logo

This logo, used from 1959 to 1993, saw the Crimson Tide chalk up 7 National Championships, six of them under the incomparable Paul 'Bear' Bryant. The last national title for the Tide came in 1992 under the leadership of head coach Gene Stallings.

New Bama Logo

This logo, more menacing than the old one, will carry Alabama athletic teams into the future.....and into future glory.

Alabama Script 'A'

The script 'A' is becoming the most popular of all the Alabama logos.

The Goal Line Stand

With time running out in the 1979 Sugar Bowl, Penn State drove to the Alabama one-yard line, trailing the Tide, 14-7. There, on fourth down with the game on the line, the Alabama defense, led by All-America linebacker Barry Krauss, rose up to stuff Nittany Lion halfback Mike Guman, giving Alabama a fifth national championship under legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
